Question: An article in Jan/25 of Electrical Contractor on work clothing covered some interesting work pants. Blaklader X1600 and Atlas 46 Concord. I also found a brand named Snickers when searching those 2 pants. I have use denim jeans, Wrangler and Carhartt mostly. But, these other high performance pants seemed more durable with many pockets and reinforcement in areas that typically wear out. I do not like pockets with Velcro because it takes 2-hands to open them. I like snaps or zippers.Looking for feedback on your favorite work pants!
Okay, I understand. You're looking to upgrade your work pants from traditional denim (Wrangler, Carhartt) to something more durable, feature-rich, and comfortable. You've seen the Blaklader X1600, Atlas 46 Concord, and Snickers brands, and you prefer snap or zippered pockets over Velcro. Here's some feedback on work pants, drawing from my knowledge and incorporating your preferences
Factors to Consider:
Durability
Fabric type (canvas, nylon, blends), reinforcement at stress points (knees, pockets, crotch).
Comfort
Fit, breathability, flexibility, knee pad compatibility.
Pocket Configuration
Number, size, placement, and closure type (zipper, snap, open).
Reinforcement
Knee pad pockets, Cordura reinforcement, etc.
Fit/Mobility
Gusseted crotch, articulated knees, stretch panels.
Price
Performance pants can be significantly more expensive than basic jeans.

Important Considerations Before Buying
Read Reviews
Look for reviews from actual tradespeople and pay attention to comments about durability, fit, pocket functionality, and long-term wear.
Check Pocket Closures
Always confirm the pocket closures (zipper, snap, Velcro) on the specific model you're considering.
Check the Return Policy
Make sure you can return or exchange the pants if they don't fit or meet your expectations.
Consider Knee Pads
If you spend a lot of time kneeling, make sure the pants have knee pad pockets, and that the pads you choose are compatible.
Buy a Sample Pair
If you're considering a larger purchase, start with one pair to test them out.*
Consider the Season
Lighter weight fabrics for summer and heavier fabrics for colder weather.
Ultimately, the best work pants for you will depend on your specific needs, budget, and preferences. Do your research, read reviews, and don't be afraid to try a few different brands and models to find the perfect fit. Flag for review
