Question: is there any code concerning switches near a shower? It doesn't look right but can't find a code issue.
National Electrical Code (NEC)Article 406.9 Switches
"(B) Wet Locations.(1) Showers. In showers, switches shall be located outside the shower space.(2) Bathtubs and Whirlpool Tubs. In bathrooms containing bathtubs or whirlpool tubs, switches shall not be located within 300 mm (12 in.) of the tub rim."
Article 210.8 Locations Requiring Ground-Fault Circuit-Interrupter (GFCI) Protection
"(B) Bathrooms.(1) All 125-volt, single-phase, 15- and 20-ampere receptacles installed in bathrooms shall have GFCI protection."
Interpretation: Switches must be located outside the shower space, typically at least 12 inches from the shower head. Switches within 12 inches of a bathtub or whirlpool tub must have GFCI protection. Flag for review
