Question: I have to mount a ceiling fan under a steel frame (for a covered patio).I already have run the line in EMT, using round Bell boxes for junctions. However, now the client wants to hang fans instead of light fixtures. I don't feel comfortable hanging a ceiling fan from those boxes. Is there a outdoor box that is rated to hang a Ceiling fan from?

Yes, there are outdoor junction boxes specifically designed for supporting ceiling fans. These boxes are typically made of weather-resistant materials such as galvanized steel or plastic and have reinforced mounting brackets to handle the weight of the fan.Look for outdoor electrical boxes that are specifically rated for ceiling fan installations. They will typically have a high weight capacity, such as 50 pounds or more, and may also have additional features such as built-in fan braces or supports.

Install a fan brace or support bracket between the junction box and the steel frame for added strength.* Follow the manufacturer's instructions for securely attaching the ceiling fan to the junction box.
