Question: The whole story is a novel but the short story is that I am now working on elevators and escalators but still working with controls. So the question is, do any of you work with Mitsubishi PLCs? I need to make some adjustments in timing and the ( industry) says it is outdated and needs to be replaced. It is an FY-48MR-UAI. Is there any aftermarket hardware and software support. Thanks for any help, Doug

Hardware and Software Support

Mitsubishi FY-48MR-UAI PLCs are indeed outdated, but aftermarket hardware and software support is still available from various vendors: Automation Direct

Offers replacement modules and software for the FY-48 series.

Automation Exchange

Provides used and refurbished PLCs, as well as programming services.

PLC Hardware

Stocks a range of FY-48 modules, I/O cards, and other components.

Control Technology Corporation (CTC)

Offers hardware and software support for legacy Mitsubishi PLCs, including the FY-48 series.

Mitsubishi Electric

May still provide limited support for this outdated model.

Timing Adjustments

The FY-48MR-UAI PLC uses a ladder logic programming language. To adjust timings, you will need to modify the ladder logic program and specify the desired time intervals using timers or delay functions.

Replacement Options

If replacing the PLC is a viable option, consider the following modern replacements:
Mitsubishi FX5U PLC

Offers enhanced performance, more I/O options, and support for newer communication protocols.

Allen-Bradley CompactLogix PLC

A popular choice for industrial applications, with high-speed processing and extensive I/O capabilities.

Siemens S7-1200 PLC:
A compact and cost-effective PLC with a user-friendly programming environment. Before making a replacement decision, it's recommended to assess the specific requirements of your application, such as I/O count, communication protocols, and programming language compatibility. Flag for review
