Question: Do transockets work with the line landed on the top or bottom or do they make a seperate socket for overhead and underground services? The reason I ask is that the 600 amp transocket I have says LINE on the top and LOAD on the bottom. The service guidelines book I have from another POCO says that a 600 amp transocket should have the conductors from an underground service landed on the bottom and that for an overhead service the conductors must land on the top. So Im thinking the transocket will work with the service condutors landed either at the top or bottom or they wire it differently for top or bottom feed?I can call the POCO Monday but would like to find out today.
Transockets typically work with the line conductors landed either on the top or bottom. The LINE and LOAD markings on the transocket indicate the proper connection points for the incoming line conductors and the outgoing load conductors, respectively. Here are some possibilities: Top Feed
The line conductors are connected to the top terminals of the transocket, and the load conductors are connected to the bottom terminals.
Bottom Feed: The line conductors are connected to the bottom terminals of the transocket, and the load conductors are connected to the top terminals. It is also possible that the transocket is designed to have the incoming conductors come in at the top and the outgoing conductors go out at the bottom, or vice versa.Without specific information on the transocket you have and the local POCO requirements, it is difficult to say definitively which way the conductors should be landed. It is always best to consult the POCO's guidelines or contact them directly to ensure proper installation and operation. Flag for review
