Question: But the store has three phase. So does this machine need 208-220V on one wire? I've never heard of 208V single phase. I don't know, maybe it's from some other country that uses a different voltage? Thank you for your help.
Single-phase 208V is a common voltage used in commercial and industrial settings in the United States. It is derived from a three-phase system, where the voltage between any two phases is 208V. The machine in question likely requires a single-phase 208V connection, which can be provided from a three-phase system using a transformer or other means. Here's a simplified explanation of how it works: A three-phase system has three wires, each carrying an alternating current voltage. The voltage between any two of the three wires is 208V.* A single-phase 208V connection can be obtained by connecting one of the three wires to a neutral wire. So, in your case, the store's three-phase system can provide the necessary 208V single-phase connection for the machine. However, it's important to have a qualified electrician verify the wiring and ensure that the machine is properly connected to avoid any electrical hazards. Flag for review
