Question: I have nonfused disc. before panel can i leave ground rods And bond at the panel or should i move to disconnect.

Move to Disconnect

According to the National Electrical Code (NEC) 250.50(A)(4), for a nonfused service disconnect located outdoors, the grounding electrode conductor (GEC) and other equipment grounding conductors (EGCs) must be connected to the service disconnect enclosure.

Reasons

Safety

Bonding at the disconnect ensures a low-resistance path for fault currents, reducing the risk of electric shock.

Compliance

The NEC requires bonding at the disconnect for nonfused outdoor service disconnects.*

Easier Maintenance

Grounding at the disconnect simplifies maintenance tasks such as removing or replacing the meter.

Procedure:
1. Extend the GEC and EGCs from the grounded service panel to the disconnect enclosure.
2. Connect the GEC to the disconnect enclosure using an appropriately sized grounding terminal.3. Connect the EGCs to the neutral terminal or grounding busbar within the disconnect enclosure. Flag for review
