Question: What is a good percentage to keep voltage drop below? Also what would you calculate the load at for a quad receptacle fed by a 120/v 20amp circuit?

Voltage Drop

The acceptable voltage drop limit varies depending on the application and local regulations. However, a good general rule of thumb is to keep voltage drop below:

5% for lighting circuits
3% for power circuitsLoad Calculation for Quad Receptacle

Assuming a 120V circuit with a 20A circuit breaker: Total current rating of the circuit breaker: 20A Maximum current allowed for each receptacle: 15A (typically)Therefore, the maximum load you can connect to the quad receptacle is:

15A x 4 (receptacles) = 60A
Note: This assumes each receptacle is operating at full load capacity, which is unlikely. In practice, the load will likely be lower. However, it's important to calculate the maximum potential load to ensure the circuit is not overloaded. Flag for review
