Question: This is a sewer plant .Just where do we need to place seal offs. The engineer wants them at each piece of equipment. Plus just before we go thru the wall??

Locations for Seal Offs in a Sewer Plant

Seal offs should be placed in the following locations: At each piece of equipment

This includes all pumps, blowers, compressors, and other equipment that has the potential to release sewer gases or liquids.

Just before going through the wall

This ensures that any gases or vapors that may be released from the equipment are contained within the sewer plant and do not escape into the surrounding environment.

Additional Considerations

In addition to the above locations, you may also consider placing seal offs in the following areas:

At the entrance and exit of ventilation ducts

This helps to prevent the spread of sewer gases throughout the plant.

Around any electrical outlets or connections

This helps to prevent the ignition of sewer gases.*

At any other openings in the building where sewer gases or liquids may escape

This includes windows, doors, and roof vents.

Purpose of Seal Offs:

Seal offs are used to create a barrier between the sewer plant and the surrounding environment. They prevent the release of sewer gases and liquids, which can be hazardous to human health and the environment. By ensuring that seal offs are properly placed and maintained, you can help to protect the health and safety of your employees and the community. Flag for review
