Question: i installed a 100 ite panel and took the jumper between two neutral bars out and used one for neutral and the other one for grounds with the bond screw installed.inspector said i cant do that and wants a separate bar...i've been trying to find it in the code but haven't been able to locate it. this same inspector also said i couldn'tstaple my 2/3 ser to the bottom of basement joists, wants running boards but i got that one 340.10-4 & 334.15 c.he also said i need nolox on cu/al rated lugsanyone direct me to the ground bar issuethanks
Ground Bar Issue
The National Electrical Code (NEC) Section 250.24(A)(5) states that, in a panelboard, there shall be one ground bar to which all equipment grounding conductors and grounded neutral conductors shall be connected. In your case, by removing the jumper and using one bar for neutrals and the other for grounds, you have created two separate bars. This is not permitted by the NEC, as it requires a single ground bar to which all grounding conductors must be connected. Therefore, you will need to install a separate ground bar in your electrical panel.
Other Issues Stapling Nonmetallic-Sheathed Cable to Basement Joists
While NEC Section 340.10(4) allows nonmetallic-sheathed cable to be stapled to the bottom of joists, NEC Section 334.15(C) requires running boards when cables are installed parallel to joists.
Nolox on Cu/Al Lugs: NEC Section 110.14(B) requires the use of an antioxidant compound when connecting aluminum conductors to copper conductors or terminals. This compound prevents corrosion and ensures a reliable connection. Flag for review
