Question: Does anyone know of any currently manufactured branch circuit breakers that are classified for use in a General Switch panel? The panels in question are 150A and 200A. The label on the inside of the door states to use CB types EQ-P or EQ-T. Siemens' has a currently manufactured type QP breaker, could this be related to an old ITE part #? Any help is greatly appreciated.
Compatible Circuit Breakers for General Switch Panels Schneider Electric Square D EQ-250 and EQ-350 circuit breakers Eaton CQ-250 and CQ-350 circuit breakersSiemens QP Breakers
Siemens QP breakers are not compatible with General Switch panels. The "P" in QP stands for ITE Panelboard, which is a different manufacturer.
Additional Notes The EQ-P and EQ-T designations used in the panel label refer to ITE brand circuit breakers that are no longer manufactured. Schneider Electric Square D and Eaton CQ-series breakers are direct replacements for the obsolete ITE EQ-series breakers.* It is crucial to use only compatible circuit breakers to ensure proper operation and safety. Mixing different brands or types of breakers can lead to damage or electrical hazards. Flag for review
