Question: Installing a solar system and got a new write up that have not seen before. "Install bonding bushing and locknut", which makes me ask what the correct assembly actully is for these off the shelf parts?Details: Entering inverter disconnect box through 3/4" concentric knock out. Conduit is waterproof metallic flex. Inbond is 400V DC solar wire. Outbond is 240AC. Box penetration is with liquid tite metallic connector. What is the correct sequence to install the bond bushing inside the box?

Correct Assembly Sequence for Solar System Installation

1.

Install the Locknut

Thread the locknut onto the conduit. Hand-tighten the locknut.2.

Insert the Bonding Bushing

Slide the bonding bushing over the conduit, making sure the conical end of the bushing faces the inside of the box.3.

Tighten the Bonding Bushing

Using a wrench, tighten the bonding bushing against the threads on the locknut. Ensure the bushing is securely tightened.

Additional Notes:
The purpose of the bonding bushing is to electrically bond the conduit to the box. The liquid-tight metallic connector is used to ensure a watertight seal around the conduit penetration. The locknut helps to secure the conduit in place and prevents it from pulling out of the box.* This assembly sequence applies to both the DC and AC sides of the inverter disconnect box.
