Question: hello,Weidmuller makes a fuse holder for cl1 div2 locations yet i am unable to find any fuses that are certified for this location. Bussman makes sealed fuses that are sealed for board washing cycles but they won't commit to saying they are hemetically sealed. They also make a very fast acting filled type "GBB", would these be considered current limiting? Has anyone purchased certified c1d2 1 by 1.25" fuses?

Certified CL1 Div 2 Fuses

Weidmüller does not manufacture fuses, only the fuse holders. The fuses to be used in these holders must meet the requirements for the specific CL1 Div 2 location and application.

Hemetically Sealed Fuses

Bussman sealed fuses may not be considered hermetically sealed, even if they offer protection against board washing cycles. True hermetically sealed fuses meet specific industry standards (e.g., MIL-PRF-23402) and are typically used in critical applications where moisture ingress must be prevented.

Current Limiting Fuses

Bussman GBB fuses are very fast-acting fuses, but they are not considered current limiting. Current limiting fuses limit the prospective short-circuit current to a predefined value, which is particularly important in applications with high fault currents.
