Question: I purchased a battery backup for my computer. Name brand. Seems like fine quality. It interfaces with my computer via a usb cable. In the last few days it has gone to battery power over four hundred times because of NOISE. It is at it's lowest setting for sensitivity. Two questions please,How can I tell if noise is the problem or if the unit is defective?Since this is not my area of expertise, could someone please recommend a resource? Thanks
How to tell if noise is the problem or if the unit is defective
Isolate the battery backup
Unplug it from all devices and test it independently. If it still switches to battery power frequently, it's likely a unit defect.
Use a decibel meter
Measure the noise level in your environment and compare it to the sensitivity level of the battery backup. If the noise exceeds the sensitivity setting, it may be triggering the backup.
Try a different location
Place the battery backup in a quieter area and observe if the issue persists.
