Question: I do not have my codebook with me at the moment but I was hoping someone could help me out I have a mini split max breaker size is 50 I know I probably do not have to run #6 Trying to find out what gauge wire I should run thank you.
NEC 2020 Table 310.15(B)(16)| AWG | Max Ampacity | Maximum Circuit Breaker Size
#10 | 30 | 30 || #8 | 40 | 40 |Since the maximum breaker size is 50 amps, you can use either #10 AWG wire (if the circuit length is short) or #8 AWG wire (if the circuit length is longer).---|---|---
Recommended: Use #8 AWG wire to ensure proper operation and longevity of the mini split system. Flag for review
