Question: If you have a 2000A switched fused at 1600a conductors would have to be sized for the 1600A fuse?Your conductors could be rated for more than 1600A but not less?

Yes, the conductors would have to be sized for the 1600A fuse. The overcurrent protective device (fuse) is designed to protect the conductors from damage in the event of a fault. The conductors must be able to carry the maximum current that the fuse will allow to flow without overheating or causing damage. Flag for review
