Question: Who can tell me the proper places to ground between CT cabinet and out door panel. Both 600 amp. Will be using 2 ground rods 10' apart. Thanks
Proper Grounding Methods for CT Cabinet and Outdoor PanelMaterials
2 x 8ft ground rods Ground rod clamps Grounding conductor (minimum: #4 AWG copper) Grounding busbar
Step 1: Drive Ground Rods Drive the ground rods 8 feet into the earth, 10 feet apart.
Step 2: Connect Ground Rods Connect the two ground rods together using a grounding conductor (e.g., #4 AWG copper).
Step 3: Ground CT Cabinet Install a grounding busbar in the CT cabinet. Connect the following to the grounding busbar: Neutral busbar Ground wires from CTs and other equipment in the cabinet Grounding conductor from the ground rodsStep 4: Ground Outdoor Panel Install a grounding busbar in the outdoor panel. Connect the following to the grounding busbar: Neutral busbar Ground wires from equipment in the panel Grounding conductor from the ground rodsStep 5: Connect CT Cabinet and Outdoor Panel Connect the grounding busbar in the CT cabinet to the grounding busbar in the outdoor panel using a grounding conductor (e.g., #4 AWG copper).
Note: The grounding conductor should be sized according to the fault current for the system. Verify the grounding system with an appropriate testing instrument (e.g., ground resistance tester). Comply with the applicable electrical codes and industry standards. Flag for review
