Question: At the beginning of each project we have to estimate the electrical load as per built up area, i want know the estimated VA/m2 for each type of building : residential, commercial, industrial, Schools and HospitalPlease adviseRegards
Estimated VA/m2 for Different Building Types
Residential
100-150 VA/m2 (excluding heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC)) 200-250 VA/m2 (including HVAC)
Commercial
150-250 VA/m2 (offices, retail, etc.) 300-500 VA/m2 (data centers, research labs)
Industrial
250-500 VA/m2 (light manufacturing) 500-1000 VA/m2 (heavy manufacturing)
Schools
150-200 VA/m2 (primary and secondary) 200-250 VA/m2 (higher education)
Hospitals
250-350 VA/m2 (general wards) 400-600 VA/m2 (critical care units) 600-1000 VA/m2 (operating rooms)
Note: These estimates are for general guidance purposes only and may vary based on factors such as building size, occupancy, and equipment usage. It is recommended to consult with a qualified electrical engineer for specific load calculations and design. Flag for review
