Question: I am calling this a hazard regardless, but am I also correct that this violates 406.8?

It is difficult to determine whether or not this violates 406.8 without more information. 406.8 requires that electrical equipment be installed in a manner that minimizes the risk of fire or electric shock. This includes using proper wiring techniques, installing equipment in a well-ventilated area, and avoiding overloading circuits. The photo shows a ceiling fan that is installed too close to a light fixture. This could create a fire hazard if the fan blades come into contact with the light fixture. Additionally, the wires that are connected to the fan are not properly secured and could become loose over time. This could create an electrical shock hazard.Based on the photo, I would say that it is likely that this installation violates 406.
8. However, I would recommend having a qualified electrician inspect the installation to confirm. Flag for review
